“Sasha Koo-Oshima“

Sasha Koo-Oshima has over 25 years of experience of national and international experience, most of which has focused on wastewater reuse and integrated water resources management. Sasha leads the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s international water engagement and was the Lead Technical Program Officer at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization on Water Quality and Environment for nearly a decade. She developed guidelines for non-conventional water resources, desalination and wastewater reuse, and water quality for sustainable agriculture; initiated dialogue and policies on water for agriculture and energy in client countries, taking into account climate change and sustainable development challenges. Sasha Koo-Oshima is currently on the Steering Committee of the UN Environment Programme’s Global Partnerships on Wastewater and Nutrient Management and is the U.S. delegate to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Committees on Water Governance and Working Party on Biodiversity, Water and Ecosystems. She also provided technical assistance to over 25 countries on water quality, food, water treatment and infrastructure financing among others.
Sasha has lectured at University of Pennsylvania,Drexel University,Georgetown University, and at Chinese universities; and has a graduate degree in Environmental Health Sciences from Yale University School of Medicine.
