Abstract
Nitrogen and phosphorus may be recovered from water and wastewater. The principles of nucleation and crystal growth from solutions are presented to show that it is possible to recover N and P essential nutrients in the form of crystalline struvite (MgNH4PO4·6H2O). Crystallization methods in the lab and industrial crystallizers shall be presented.
