\"\"Dr. Konstantinos Komnitsas, hydrometallurgist, is Professor at Technical University Crete, School of Mineral Resources Engineering. He is director of three labs: i) Waste Management and Soil Rehabilitation ii) Ore Processing and iii) Ceramics and Glass Technology. His expertise is in the fields of metallurgy, hydro- and bio-hydrometallurgy, decontamination of effluents, soils and wastes, life cycle and risk analysis. Prof. Komnitsas is national expert in Societal Challenge ‘Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials’ (HORIZON 2020).<\/p>\n

In addition he is a member of the editorial board of three international journals (Elsevier and Taylor & Francis). He frequently evaluates research proposals in the fields of environment and materials as well as education and training for the European Commission and National Research Foundations of several countries, including Greece, Cyprus, US, Russia, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Romania, Chile, Serbia and Montenegro.
