Former Director of the Laboratory of Agricultural Constructions and Environmental Control of the Department of Agriculture Crop Production and Rural Environment of the School of Agricultural Sciences of University of Thessaly. Former Director of the Institute for Technology & Management of Agricultural Ecosystems of the Centre for Research & Technology-Thessaly (CERETETH).
Regular member of the Greek Agricultural Academy.
He has more than 45 years of experience in Academic Education in the field of Agricultural Engineering, bio-climatology, environmental control of agricultural buildings, greenhouse technologies and renewable energy sources. He, also, has notable research experience in greenhouse design, microclimate control of agricultural buildings, irrigation of crops under cover, simulation and modelling of greenhouse ecosystem. He has more than 180 publications in peer-review international journals and more than 300 papers in international and national conference proceedings. His published work has more than 4000 citations with an h-index=34. He has, also, significant experience in research projects, having coordinated and participated in more than 70 European and National research projects.
