RESEARCH FIELDS IN ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY

  1. Development of modern extraction techniques coupled to mass spectrometry for determination of organic micropollutants in environmental and food samples,
  2. Occurrence, transport, fate and effects of micropollutants (pesticides, pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs), phenols, PCBs, PAHs, endocrine disrupting compounds etc..) in the environment,
  3. Identification and structure elucidation of organic contaminants by advanced mass spectrometric techniques (GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS, LC-ToF/MS, LC-QToF, Orbitrap, etc),
  4. Development of effective degradation and purification processes for the mineralization of organic micropollutants (Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs), especially in photocatalysis, destruction with artificial and solar light
  5. Development of nanostructured materials;
  6. Environmental toxicology and risk assessment management,
  7. Management of hazardous wastes,
  8. DevelopmentofGeographicInformationSystems(GIS)inenvironmentalstudies,
  9. Quality Control/Quality assurance, Quality management systems, Environmental management systems (ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
