He studied Biological Sciences at the University of Trieste, Italy, and holds a PhD from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the University of Patras, Greece. He has significant postodoctoral research experience as a member of the Environmental Microbiology Unit (Laboratory of Hygiene, Department of Medicine, University of Patras). He was a researcher of significant projects such as: 1) BioNFate (ARISTEIA I), \u201cFate and transport of biocolloids and nanoparticles in groundwater and effects of polluted water on public health\u201d, and 2) Archimedes III, \u201cWastewater Reuse \u2013 Development of a risk assessment model for public health protection\u201d. &nbsp;He is also a researcher of the INVALOR research infrastructure (research infrastructure for waste valorization and sustainable management of resources).
