Her research interests are climate-resilient water management, both at national and international scale. In addition to teaching, D\u00f6rte Ziegler is now responsible for projects on climate adaptation and flash floods and on climate-resilient cities. Before joining the university, D. Ziegler worked for 13 years in international development cooperation with GIZ, the German Agency for international cooperation, mostly in the water sector, where she was involved in projects in the MENA region, in Latin America and Asia. Between 2001 and 2002, she worked for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and The Pacific in Bangkok. At the Technical University of Berlin, D\u00f6rte Ziegler completed her PhD (Dr.-Ing.) on the water cycle of Berlin (1998-2000) and her diploma as environmental engineer (1992-1998).
